Buttered Wortes
8 cups of any combination of spinach, cabbage, beet greens, swiss chard, et cetera 1 stick (1/4 LB.) butter (melted) 2 cups diced bread or croutons (season to taste)
Greens must be well washed and chopped. Place greens in covered pot with a little water and steam them until well cooked and tender. Drain. Place some croutons in an individual serving bowl and cover with the hot cooked greens. Top off with some melted butter and serve.
